20. Presentation .
Cassandre/Horschamp is an artistic and cultural review that deals with the practice of arts and culture in our contemporary society. Actions : All of the actions lead by Cassandre’s" links" and in particular the (...)

After five meetings organized by Cassandre/Horschamp in local regions of France (see below), we believe it is important, in this politically charged period, to spark a debate about the questions that concern us at the national and European levels. During various national and European meetings, we have (...)

15. Cassandre 50 editorial .
Yes, we spend lots of time time in front of our screens. Writing, spreading and receiving information… We have never undermined communication tools that allow us to diffuse texts and ideas in real time and increase visibility of realities that the general press considers as ’provocative phenomena targeting middleclass snobs’. However, as far as the practices of art are concerned, our first aim is to bring people together so as to stay conscious as members of a human cultural group. Let us (...)

14. EDITORIAL 51.
If we want to be efficient in the fight against the notion of "entertainment" which leads to a loss of interest in the practice of arts and to be able to resist to all types of merchants (from the "barons" of the ancient regime to these neo-alternative operettas who seize innovative experiences to transform them into profit) it is necessary to question the capacity of these practices to come in contact with contemporary reality. A human, political or ethnical reality that we simply don’t (...)

Order Cassandre/Horschamp 52 online It is a pleasure for Cassandre to « decentralize ». It’s in her nature and it has been done from the start. Cassandre the Parisian likes to flair and find the quality and greatness of certain gestures and activities where others have not yet ventured (or perhaps will never venture). The meaning of decentralization for Cassandre is certainly not to bring down the level of cultural quality in excuse for some superficial "demand". Decentralization is for (...)

12. PRINCESSE AU CARROSSE .
Sandrine Peyroux is an artist at the Carrosse, a place recently open and threatened to close, near Porte de Bagnolet. Mature and sensitive, her paintings catch the eye. "Why is she in a squat ?" will aficionados of labels ask in acknowledging and creating categories and prejudices ... However, Sandrine Peyroux’s career is the example of an artistic gesture fed by the choice of difficulty. Well protected behind the shield of "artistic judgments", a few art critics or experts have cautiously (...)

We shall continue to explore countrysides ; it is resourceful nowadays. Our friends Deshoulières, Livchine and Benoit Szakow offer us so derisively. Let us follow, discover, and observe the strong and sincere procedures that leave us to believe that art is not only a product in the reach of managing handshakes. Let us continue to imagine art as preoccupied by human kind can be relevant in our society. Let us continue to search for the means for this to happen. Will we in time know how to (...)

10. Editorial du N° 54 (english).
This cover page title is now far from making us smile, and justifies itself by its own. The time has now come for those who give importance to the soul of our human society to the values we here defend, no matter what side chosen, for worrisome times. We are witnessing from all sides for the fist time in a long time, the failure of one of the most evolved public system of the occidental world. Our society can be proud of this perfectible institutional system, where weaknesses have (...)

.

This devastating explosion - such as a fragmentation bomb - that we are witnessing, the failure of our public cultural system, sapped by the absence of leadership in actual stakes awakes and alerts Cassandra. It is perhaps time to hear the harassing prophetess... What does she say today ? She says what she has always said about the political and social realm of Art. As well, that in moments of grand assemblies faced to a common crisis, one must fight overtime against confusion and (...)
